Charles S. "Chuck" Miller – Repeat Sex Offender

Miller was “in a position of trust as a youth minister” when he was convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor in Wayne County in October 2001

That conviction resulted in a one-year jail term with all but 20 days suspended.

A former youth pastor — who is also a convicted sex offender — from Delaware County has struck a deal with federal prosecutors, agreeing to plead guilty to a child pornography charge.

Charles S. “Chuck” Miller, 49, of rural Gaston, was arrested last September when federal agents raided his Harrison Township home. In court documents, a U.S. postal inspector wrote that Miller “admitted to being a member of an Internet-based bulletin board dedicated to the advertisement and distribution of child pornography.”

Miller — who remains in federal custody — has signed a plea agreement admitting that he knowingly received photographs of “an actual minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct” via the Internet.

The deal, which has been taken under advisement by U.S. District Court Judge William T. Lawrence, calls for a 15-year prison term.

After his release from custody, Miller would be on probation for the rest of his life, be forbidden from possessing “pornography, erotica or nude images,” and be required to register as a convicted sex offender in the communities in which he lives and works.

Miller was “in a position of trust as a youth minister” when he was convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor in Wayne County in October 2001, according to court documents that list the defendant as then living in Muncie.

That conviction resulted in a one-year jail term with all but 20 days suspended.

Miller in April 2008 was charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, a misdemeanor count still pending in Muncie City Court.

In that case, he is accused of beating a teenager in his home because the boy failed to follow instructions in recharging a car battery.

James Rennie – Chief Executive of LBGT Youth Scotland GUILTY Molesting babies

The men were convicted of abusing infants from three months old and conspiracy and holding more than 125,000 images of child pornography…

A ring of eight paedophiles, including a former welfare campaigner for young gay men, were yesterday convicted of child abuse and producing indecent images of children.

The men, from across central Scotland, were found guilty by a jury in Edinburgh of more than 50 charges, ranging from abusing infants from three months old to conspiracy and holding more than 125,000 images of child pornography.

Two of the leaders of the gang, the biggest paedophile network uncovered in Scotland, were convicted of raping and abusing the young children of close friends while they were babysitting, and sharing images of the abuse.

One, James Rennie, 38, then the chief executive of the gay and lesbian helpline LBGT Youth Scotland, had been babysitting the son of close friends, called Child F during the trial, since the child was three months old. The child’s parents were so comfortable with Rennie that he was allowed to bathe, change and dress the boy, whom he went on to abuse repeatedly for four years, allowing another ring-leader, Neil Strachan, to participate.

An engineer with previous convictions for child sex offences, Strachan, 41, had photographed himself trying to abuse an 18-month-old boy he was babysitting for friends on New Year’s Eve in 2005.

Rennie, a former secondary school teacher since sacked from the helpline, had championed the rights of young gay people. But in private, said Dorothy Bain QC, prosecuting, he had been “polluted by deviant compulsion”.

During one of the most harrowing trials of its kind, the images were so graphic that the court had to be cleared of the public and media during the 10-week hearing. At one stage, the judge, Lord Bannatyne, suddenly adjourned the hearing without explanation after hearing about the rape of a four-year-old girl.

The police uncovered the paedophile ring after Strachan, a maintenance engineer for a paint firm and formerly secretary of Celtic Boys Club in Edinburgh, handed his computer in for repair. On its hard drive, a repair technician found an image of an 11-year-old boy abusing himself.

A further 7,000 images were found, together with emails clearly showing that other children were at serious risk. Lothian and Borders detectives launched Operation Algebra, and were given warrants by courts in the United States to obtain email records from Microsoft. Expert witnesses were able to identify one digital camera used to record the abuse from the photographs.

That investigation exposed Rennie’s identity. He had assumed the email name “Kenny Plover”, whose email address “kplover99” was said to stand for “kiddie porn lover”. His email account was accessed from the offices of LGBT Youth Scotland in Leith, Edinburgh.

Sophisticated tracking equipment then located Rennie’s broadband Wi-Fi signals in the Meadowbank area of Edinburgh.

Strachan, using the name “Mark”, sent Rennie images of his abuse of the toddler on New Year’s Eve. Further investigations by police uncovered the identities of the other six men who made, shared and collected abusive images: Colin Slaven, 23, from Edinburgh; Neil Campbell, 46, John Milligan, 40, and John Murphy, 44, all of Glasgow; Ross Webber, 27, from North Berwick; and Craig Boath, 24, from Dundee.

Milligan had 78,000 images in his possession. He was allowed to listen on the telephone to Rennie abusing the toddler, and had discussed getting access to the boy. Webber, Boath and Milligan were found guilty of conspiring to participate in the sexual abuse of children along with Strachan and Rennie. Campbell was cleared of conspiracy. The men will be sentenced later.

James M. Silcox – Repeat Sex Offender – Molests 5 year old

Sheriff’s officials arrested a 64-year-old registered sex offender Thursday and charged him with lewd or lascivious molestation after he reportedly touched a 5-year-old girl inappropriately, according to officials.

The victim told Detective Owen Confessore that James M. Silcox touched her private area, and allegedly told her not to tell anyone. The incident occurred between Halloween and Christmas of 2008.

Silcox told the detective he picked up the victim by the waist and may have accidentally touched her private area.

He was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail.

The state’s Department of Corrections Web site shows Silcox was convicted in Marion County in 1992 for coercing a child involving a sex act. He was released in November 2001.

Dr Gregory Colin Wilson – Court orders Pedophile’s name to be released

THE identity of a prominent GP who sexually assaulted two of his teenage female patients can finally be revealed.

The victims of Doctor Gregory Colin Wilson today celebrated the convicted pedophile being “named and shamed” after AdelaideNow successfully overturned a publication ban on his identity.

One woman, who cannot be named, claimed it as “a victory” after almost two decades of suffering and six years of court proceedings.

“I feel like this is a real win, because there were times where I started to question myself and ask why I was doing this,” she said.

“But both of us (victims) were doing it for the children we once were, who couldn’t stand up for themselves.

“We’ve come a long way.”

Wilson’s other victim, Tori Barnes, said she was thrilled to hear the news.

“For six years, Wilson has fought to keep his name under wraps and he’s had the money to do it,” she said.

“I’m just happy he’s going to be out there in the media, and I just can’t wait for sentencing.”

Wilson, 59, of North Haven, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.

He sexually assaulted the woman, who cannot be named, on two occasions when she was a teenager.

He was, at the time, both her GP and a friend of her family.

Earlier this year, Wilson was found guilty of sexually assaulting Ms Barnes during a family holiday in 1989.

He received a suspended sentence for that offence.

Today, both Ms Barnes and the other woman said they hoped the District Court would jail Wilson this time.

“I want to see him named and shamed, I want to see him jailed, I want his medical licence revoked indefinitely,” the woman said.

“Most importantly, I don’t want him to be able to ever hurt anyone, the way he hurt us, ever again.”

Ms Barnes agreed.

“I was very disappointed he didn’t go to jail for (assaulting) me, I hope that this time he actually does,” she said.

“He deserves no less a penalty for what he has done to our lives.”
