Anthony Mark Bianch – Repeat Sex Offender – Convicted BabyRaper

Bianch’s Attorney argued that treatment of children in Moldova culture is different from that in the United States.

“Holding a 15-year-old down and performing anal rape
is not acceptable in anybody’s culture”

In August 2007, a jury found Bianchi guilty of traveling to Moldova and Romania for sex with boys. Of the 10 victims who came to testify in the U.S., two were raped, three were sexually assaulted, two were molested and two were contacted by phone to set up a sexual encounter.

Anthony Mark Bianchi, a North Wildwood multimillionaire sex tourist, graded young boys he raped, molested or attempted to seduce in Eastern Europe, according to a notebook seized by authorities.

Bianchi, 46, even marked the ones who got away, writing “no” in his notebook, after his translator and pimp, Ion Gusin, procured only the poorest children of Romania and Moldova, where Gusin is serving 20 years.

Yesterday, during a 4 1/2 hour sentencing in federal court, Bianchi received the federal equivalent of his own grade when he was sentenced to 25 years in prison for being a sexual predator of boys.

U.S. District Judge Bruce Kauffman said that he would request that Bianchi – once treated for impotence – serve the time in a facility that treats sexual offenders.

In August 2007, a jury found Bianchi guilty of traveling to Moldova and Romania for sex with boys. Of the 10 victims who came to testify in the U.S., two were raped, three were sexually assaulted, two were molested and two were contacted by phone to set up a sexual encounter.

“We want to assure people abroad that we will hold our citizens accountable for sex crimes abroad,” said John Kelleghan, special agent-in-charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE was tipped off to Bianchi’s sex activities before he reentered the United States in 2006.

Seeking a five-to-seven-year sentence, Bianchi’s attorney, Pat Harris, of the celebrity Los Angeles law firm Geragos & Geragos, argued that looking at child pornography of toddlers is “far worse than what he did.”

“Far worse than rape?” asked an incredulous Kauffman.

Harris argued that treatment of children in Moldova culture is different from that in the United States.

“Holding a 15-year-old down and performing anal rape is not acceptable in anybody’s culture,” newly named interim U.S. Attorney Michael Levy said outside the court.

“This was the worst case I’ve handled in terms of callousness and number of victims,” said Levy.

The judge could have given Bianchi 30 years, the top of the sentencing range.

Kauffman also ordered Bianchi to a lifetime of supervised release, fined him $50,000 and ordered him to pay restitution of $47,950.20, which would go toward two years of therapy for his sex-abuse victims.

The judge also allowed investigators to look into Bianchi’s finances, once tallied at $2.6 million, after he claimed that he was destitute.

The judge ruled that the Bureau of Prisons could place monitoring devices on computers he might use.

Once Bianchi is released, the judge ordered that he have one year of house arrest, wear an electronic monitoring device and maintain a phone accessible to the probation office.

The judge also placed other restrictions on him:

* No contact with anyone under 18 years-old;

* No volunteer work with minors;

* No access to the Internet;

* Provide authorities with his DNA;

* Register with the state sexual-offender registry.

In 2000, Bianchi received a three-year sentence in Russia for having illicit sex with boys age 10 to 13. The U.S. Embassy persuaded Russia to release him after three months due to prison conditions. *

David Wayne Phillips – Repeat Sex Offender – Charged with Rape of Child – and More

A preliminary hearing has been set for a man who faces sexual charges involving two children.

David Wayne Phillips, 43, will appear in General Sessions court on July 31, when he could be bound over to the Bedford County grand jury.

Phillips is charged with rape of a child, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and four violations of the sex offender registry and is being held under a bond of $760,000.

Bedford County investigators had been searching for Phillips since December of last year after he allegedly failed to report in, as he was required to do four times a year as a registered sex offender.

According to Detective Becky Hord, Phillips was added to the offender registry in 2004 for two counts of sexual battery and one count of aggravated sexual battery involving minors that occurred in Marshall County.

Warrants filed by Hord claim that in February of this year while Phillips was working for a local trucking firm, he allegedly allowed a child to ride in the truck.

While the child was in the vehicle, Phillips allegedly committed two sexual acts leading to the charges of rape of a child.

The two counts of aggravated sexual battery stem from alleged incidents involving two children in Shelbyville in which Phillips is charged with touching the pair.

The four counts of violating the sex offender registry are due to his allegedly failing to report changes of living arrangements, providing false information about his whereabouts and violating his residential restrictions by living with two children.

Phillips was picked up in Mississippi on the warrants at the end of March, was held there for nearly a week and then transported to Bedford County, where he made bond.

Phillips then allegedly gave Hord another address in Shelbyville, which the detective said was also false. But then Hord said she got a call from a Bedford County parent who believed that Phillips may have “done something to my children.”

The parent told Hord that Phillips had stayed with the family “and kept my children for me.” Hord also stated that the parent had “no idea” that the children were in any danger.

Hord interviewed the children and learned that Phillips would allegedly take the children for rides in the truck he drove and even rented a hotel room in Shelbyville to stay with the kids, “but nothing happened there,” Hord said.

However, the children did tell Hord about other incidents and the detective said that when Phillips was confronted with the accusations made by the children, he allegedly wrote a three-page confession.

Ricky Melvin Helton – Repeat Sex Offender – The Definition of a Predator = Ricky Melvin Helton

A Sullivan County grand jury on Wednesday handed down indictments against a violent sex offender accused of fondling a 10-year-old girl while living in her home.

The grand jury indicted Ricky Melvin Helton, 42, 940 Chadwick Drive, Apt. 4, on two counts of aggravated sexual battery and one violation of the Tennessee Sexual Offender registry.

Kingsport Police arrested Helton in January. His charges stem from allegations of incidents that occurred in early 2007.

At that time, Helton was living in a home where the victim also resided, even though the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry barred him from living with a minor.

Helton registered as a sex offender following a June 9, 1993 conviction in Florida for lewd and lascivious acts on a minor, according to the indictment.

Helton lived with the victim’s family for about six months or so, said Kingsport Police Department Detective Melanie Adkins. The girl’s family apparently had no idea of their house guest’s background, she added.

A Department of Children’s Services referral prompted the investigation in late 2008, Adkins said.

Helton remains jailed in the Sullivan County Detention Center in lieu of a $150,000 bond.

Larry Simpson – Repeat Sex Offender – Attempted Rape of neighbor

A registered sex offender was arrested early this morning after a neighbor woke up and found him in her bed, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Office.

Larry Simpson, of 129 Reverend Walton Drive in unincorporated Lockport, was charged with home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, said spokesman Pat Barry. Simpson, 51, was a registered sex offender, Barry said.

According to Barry, the victim, a 33-year-old female, woke up at about 1:30 a.m. and found the suspect with an object at her neck and his hands on her. The woman screamed, and the suspect fled, Barry said.

The victim’s mother heard the screams and chased the suspect out of the house, following him as he ran to Reverend Walton Drive, Barry said.

Both the mother and victim recognized the suspect as their neighbor, he said. Simpson was arrested about 2 a.m.

At age 25, Simpson was convicted of deviate sexual assault in Will County, according to records. His victim was 23.

Gerald Ivor Edwards – Repeat Sex Offender – Internet Predator – Busted by Vigilant Mom

A Folsom mother got online and posed as her daughter to help police arrest a suspected internet predator. The woman, who did not want to be identified, said her daughter confided in her that something was amiss.

Her 10-year old daughter was researching a paper on the solar system two days ago, when someone sent her an instant message. At first, it seemed innocent, she said, but then things changed.

“It got out of hand and talking about inappropriate stuff,” the girl said. “That’s when I knew.”

Her mother says she just happened to ask her daughter if everything was okay. Her daughter’s response came as a shock. “They told me to touch myself and then I told them, why would I do that, I’m a little girl?” the child said.

Her mother called police and asked if she could pose as her daughter online. Then she got to work.

“I’d misspell words. I would say things differently. I typed with one finger so it was a little slower,” she said, as she tried to be convincing.

The suspect was completely taken in. “He proceeded to talk to me about the same things, the masturbation-type things, sending me explicit photos,” she said.

She was able to get the man’s real name and other information that led Folsom Police directly to the suspect.

On Wednesday morning, they served a search warrant at the suspect’s home and that afternoon, arrested 53-year old Gerald Ivor Edwards on one count of sending harmful matter with the intent to seduce a minor and one count of annoying or molesting a minor.

Police say the suspect is a local sex registrant who was previously arrested for indecent exposure.

At Edwards’ home, a woman who identified herself as his mother said she could not understand her son’s alleged actions.

“(He’s) quite kind, very loving. He’s wonderful to me. And he’s great with people,” she said.

Folsom Police are concerned there may be other victims and are asking anyone who suspects their child may have had some kind of inappropriate contact with someone on line, to give them a call.

The alleged 10-year old victim says she is fine and is proud of how she and her mother handled things. “My friend’s mom said I did a little bit of good because the guy in in jail now,” she said.

Three Boyfriends sentenced to Life in Prison for molesting Girlfriends child

  • Lawrence sentenced to 25 years to life for molesting his former girlfriend’s now-10-year-old daughter three years ago.
  • Collins sentenced to 15 years to life for molesting the 5-year-old daughter of his Buffalo girlfriend two years ago.
  • Jenkins was sentenced to 20 years to life for raping former girlfriend’s now 10 year old daughter in November and December 2007.

Terry Jenkins on Wednesday became the third Buffalo man in the past month to get a life term for sexually assaulting a young girl.

Jenkins, 34, formerly of Fillmore and Newburgh avenues, was denounced by State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski as “a sick man” for what he did repeatedly to his former girlfriend’s daughter in her Buffalo home two years ago.

Jenkins insisted he has “never been this type of monster” and was convicted by “false statements” of the girl — now 10 — and his ex-girlfriend.

The judge rejected his claims, telling Jenkins he had “no doubt whatsoever that you committed these acts.”

Michalski heard non-jury trials demanded by Jenkins, Robert Lawrence and Aaron Collins over the past month. He found all three guilty as charged of predatory sexual assault against a child under 13, convicting them under the relatively new state law that carries a mandatory life term.

The judge ordered Jenkins, who is now a registered sex offender, to serve 20 years to life for raping the girl in November and December 2007.

At the request of Kristin A. St. Mary, new head of the Erie County District Attorney’s Domestic Violence Bureau, the judge also slapped Jenkins with a 100-year order of protection, as allowed by the state’s high court for such sex crime convictions. Thomas Farley, Jenkins’ attorney, told the judge he found that order to be legally “excessive.”

On May 13, Michalski sentenced Lawrence, 37, of Herkimer Avenue, to 25 years to life for molesting his former girlfriend’s now-10-year-old daughter three years ago.

On April 24, he ordered Collins, 31, of Gibson Street, to serve a 15 years to life for molesting the 5-year-old daughter of his Buffalo girlfriend two years ago. Collins became the first Erie County suspect convicted under the state’s toughened predatory sexual assault law.

Stephen P. Burk – Repeat Sex Offender – Preying on Kids

Police arrested a registered sex offender Thursday who has been charged with indecent exposure and making an indecent proposal to a child. Authorities also believe there may be more victims.

Enid Police Department detectives arrested Stephen P. Burk, 53, at his home, 1320 S. Adams, Wednesday morning on complaints of lewd propositions to a minor and indecent exposure.

Police were contacted May 19 concerning a man propositioning an 8-year-old girl, and during their investigation learned the same man allegedly exposed himself to a 7-year-old girl the same day.

Police Chief Rick West encouraged parents to ask their children if they have had any contact with Burk, and if so, to file a report.

“We are going to continue to do our part to notify the public about the sex offenders living in our community,” West said. “It’s necessary if we have additional victims that they come forward.”

Police had notified neighbors of Burk’s status as a sex offender using fliers and making phone calls.

West wanted to remind parents to take proper precautions to protect their children.

“It’s imperative parents take us seriously,” he said. “Parents need to take an active role in ensuring the safety of their children.”

If parents learn their children have been propositioned or have had someone expose themselves to them, they should contact Enid Police Depart-ment at 242-7000 and ask to speak with someone in the Juvenile Crimes Division.

Police spoke with the mother of the 8-year-old girl May 19 when she reported she had left her daughter in her van while taking groceries into her mother’s house in the 1400 block of South Jefferson, according to court documents. The woman said she heard her daughter scream and ran outside to the van and found her daughter crying. The girl told her mother a man had approached her and asked if she liked to have sex, according to the affidavit.

The girl described the man as being in his 40s with a thin build and wearing dark denim jeans, a white T-shirt and a dark-colored back pack strap-ped around the chest. The girl said the man had gray hair that had grown down to his ears. An officer then canvassed the neighborhood and provided a description of the man to neighbors.

On May 21, a neighbor who had been given a description of the man by police called and reported seeing the man walking in the area. Police stopped a man in the 700 block of West Rush matching the description given by the 8-year-old girl. They identified the man as Burk and arrested him for public intoxication, according to the affidavit.

On May 22, police spoke with another parent who said about 5:30 p.m. May 19 he was told by his 16-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter while they were outside a man began to follow them. The man said his children told him the man placed his hands down the front of his pants.

The man said about 8:30 that evening his family again saw the man walking past their residence. He described the man as having gray hair past his ears, wearing dark jeans, a white T-shirt and a dark-colored back pack.

Police spoke with the 7-year-old May 22, and the girl said the man she and her brother saw pulled his shorts down to his mid-thigh and exposed his “private” to her. When shown a photo lineup by police, the girl identified Burk as the man, according to the affidavit.

Burk was notified March 23 by Department of Correc-tions his status as a registered sex offender had been changed to habitual sex offender, requiring him to register with law enforcement every 90 days. Previously, Burk only had to register with law enforcement annually. He has felony and misdemeanor convictions in Alaska for indecent exposure.

Harold Willison – Repeat Sex Offender – Rapes elderly woman and calls it consensual

A convicted sex offender from Eau Claire will spend the next three decades in a mental institution.

Tuesday, Harold Willison pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault. Last May, he broke into a 78 year old woman’s home and sexually assaulted her.

He was being electronically monitored at the time, but the alarm didn’t go off because he was still close to his own home. The court ordered Willison to be committed for 31 years.

Judge Paul Lenz abided by terms of a plea agreement between Eau Claire County District Attorney Rich White and public defender Jim Walsh and found Willison not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

A psychiatric examination supports an insanity finding, White said.

If Willison is ever released from an institution, he will be on lifetime supervision by corrections officials.

Walsh previously raised the issue of Willison’s competency to assist with his defense, primarily because of a brain injury Willison sustained in a traffic accident several years ago.

Walsh agreed on Tuesday that Willison is competent to enter a plea in this case.

Willison told police the incident with the elderly woman was a mistake. He told police he had a strong sexual urge and had been watching the woman’s house.

According to the criminal complaint:

Willison’s sister noticed Willison leaving the woman’s home on May 30, 2008. Willison told her the woman simply fed him.

Willison later told a second sister and Eau Claire police he had consensual sex with the woman.

But the woman told police Willison sexually assaulted her in her bathroom.

The woman said Willison entered her home and asked her if she wanted to have sex. The woman said she told Willison to get out of her house.

The woman said Willison then grabbed her and assaulted her in the bathroom.

Police said Willison was on electronic monitoring at the time of the incident but was not outside his geographical boundary or curfew requirements.

Local law enforcement designated Willison as a Level 3 sex offender when he was released from prison in November 2005. Police said Willison had a history of engaging in sexual acts with women, girls and men.

Police and corrections officials place a Level 3 designation on released sex offenders they believe pose a high risk of reoffending.

Derrick Gartner – Repeat Sex Offender – Busted for Child Porn

Gartner is on the Sex Offender Registry for 2004 convictions in Lancaster County for attempted second-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment of a minor, and for a 2003 conviction in Gage County for attempted first-degree sexual assault, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

Lincoln police say while a man was in jail in April, his roommate came across child pornography on his computer.

It led police to re-arrest 28-year-old Derrick Gartner, who now gives a Beatrice address.

Officer Katie Flood said police arrested Gartner, a Level 3 convicted sex offender, on Wednesday on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

She said on April 4, his now-former roommate contacted police after finding disturbing images of children in sexual poses on Gartner’s computer.

The next day, police served a search warrant and seized the computer and other media devices. Flood said an investigator since has done a forensic examination and found child pornography.

On May 12, Flood said, police were called to Lincoln High School at 6:45 a.m. about Gartner, who was passed out in front of the school. Police took him to Detox, Flood said, where they found a pipe with methamphetamine residue on it.

Gartner is on the Sex Offender Registry for 2004 convictions in Lancaster County for attempted second-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment of a minor, and for a 2003 conviction in Gage County for attempted first-degree sexual assault, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

Christopher Todd O’Leary – Repeat Sex Offender – Predator

A DeLand sex offender arrested on a charge of molesting a 14-year-old girl posted bail, officials said Wednesday afternoon.

Christopher Todd O’Leary, 34, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging him with lewd and lascivious molestation. O’Leary is accused of molesting the girl in March 2008.

According to a sheriff’s charging affidavit, O’Leary picked up the girl on March 7, 2008, to take her to a motorcycle event at Daytona International Speedway. Instead he took the girl shopping at several stores at a Sanford mall and entered the dressing rooms when the girl tried on her clothes.

After the shopping trip, O’Leary drove toward Daytona Beach and started touching the victim’s thighs close to her genitals. He then pulled over and parked on a dirt road and tried to unbutton the girl’s shorts, telling her, “Come on baby, I need your help,” the charging affidavit states.

O’Leary then put his hand in the girl’s pants and touched her inappropriately, authorities said.
