Wilson Vanhoy – Sentenced to 39 years as a Scumbag

“Again we have seen that Montgomery County juries support the victims of this kind of abuse and hand out the significant prison sentences this type of crime demands. Our office continues to make cases involving child sexual abuse a priority and will always, always ask for maximum sentences.”

A Montgomery County jury sentenced Magnolia resident Wilson Vanhoy to 39 years in prison Thursday evening after convicting him of one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Mr. Vanhoy digitally penetrated his step daughter on at least one occasion when she was 13 years of age. In addition, the victim in the case testified that she had been subjected to abuse at the hands of Mr. Vanhoy over the course of many years.

Prosecutors Patty Maginnis and Tyler Dunman argued for a maximum sentence given the violent and detailed history of abuse. Judge Cara Wood promptly sentenced the defendant to the 39 years recommended by the jury. Mr. Vanhoy will not be eligible for parole for nineteen and a half years.

“The victim in this case showed tremendous courage and strength in the courtroom,” stated District Attorney Brett Ligon. “Again we have seen that Montgomery County juries support the victims of this kind of abuse and hand out the significant prison sentences this type of crime demands. Our office continues to make cases involving child sexual abuse a priority and will always, always ask for maximum sentences.”

Maurice Reyes – Sick Twist – Child Predator Busted by DNA

Orange County Sex Crimes Investigators used DNA evidence and video from two different surveillance cameras to track down a suspected predator in east Orlando.

46-year-old Maurice Reyes is accused of duct taping and gagging a four year old girl, after breaking into her home in the middle of the night.

Cops say DNA evidence found on beer cans that Reyes left at the scene not only connects him to the attack last week but also to a similar case in 2007.

“He breaks through a bathroom window… he goes into the child’s room, gags her with a piece of cloth,” said detective Rich Mankewich.

The suspect in the 2007 case fled when the child’s mother heard him in the house,

Mankewich says Reyes has a history of bizarre behavior. Three times in the 1990s Reyes was caught masturbating outside of homes as he peered in through the window.

Reyes sits in jail on no bond.

Mankewich says charges on the 2007 case are coming.

Thomas Baudier – Repeat Sex Offender – Busted for Child Porn

A Northport man was arrested on charges of possessing child pornography Monday night after Suffolk computer crimes detectives determined that he had downloaded the porn on the Internet, police said.

Thomas Baudier, 24, of 26 Valley Rd., was charged with two counts of possessing a sexual performance of a child, a felony; and one count each of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Police searched his home and took four computers along with CDs and DVDs in the 8:37 p.m. Monday arrest.

The suspect is employed at “an Italian pasta shop in Shirley,” Suffolk police said.

Baudier was acquitted in October 2007 by District Court Judge Salvatore Alamia, after a 10-day trial on charges that he had sexual contact with two girls, 14 and 16. He was found not guilty of sexual abuse, attempted sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. The girls, their friends, a school social worker and a police detective testified at the trial.

Before his acquittal, Baudier was a permanent substitute teacher at Northport High School in 2007.

Baudier is scheduled for arraignment on the child pornography charges Tuesday at First District Court, Central Islip.

Merton Parks – Baptist pastor – Guilty Child Pornography

A northern New York Baptist pastor has admitted downloading child pornography to a church computer.

Merton Parks, the former pastor of Oswegatchie First Baptist Church, pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child. The 61-year-old Parks was sentenced to 10 years’ probation.

Parks said nothing at his hearing in St. Lawrence County Court, but defense attorney Gary Miles said his client was sorry for his actions.

Authorities say they busted Parks by tracking the credit card he used to buy child pornography on a computer in the church.

Jonathan Patrick Blevins – Confessed Serial Pedophile

A Huntsville man arrested earlier this month for sexual assault of a child is now being investigated by the Texas Attorney General’s Office for possible possession of child pornography.

On May 8, 36-year-old Jonathan Patrick Blevins of Huntsville was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child after he confessed to repeatedly sexually assaulting four girls between the ages of 4 and 7 during the years 1988-1992.

According to Detective Eric Scott of the Huntsville Police Department, the victims, who requested anonymity in all reports associated with the offenses, initially filed statements alleging abuse from Blevins in 2003.

Police investigated their claims, but were unable to obtain enough evidence to convict Blevins.

“The victims wrote statements on him in ’03. We investigated, but we just didn’t have enough on him at the time, and the case went cold,” Scott said. “Then recently the AG’s office received some information that he might be in possession of child pornography, so we went to his house, and he basically broke down and confessed to assaulting the four girls.”

Blevins also consented to have his computer and several hard drives confiscated by the Attorney General’s Office for further examination, though he did not explicitly confess to possession of child pornography.

After being interviewed by police, Blevins was transported to the Walker County Jail and booked on the four sexual assault charges. His bond was set at $80,000, or $20,000 for each offense.

According to Scott, charges of possession of child pornography are still possible pending an examination of Blevins’ computer.

Tanner Stickney & girlfriend Rhonda J. Bays – Pedophile Duo Busted

A Washington, D.C., man bragged about his plans to visit Orlando last week to have sex with a child, federal officials allege.

Now, Tanner Stickney, 29, is behind bars — and so is his ex-girlfriend, a Central Florida woman accused of playing a role in the supposed sexual rendezvous.

Stickney was arrested by FBI agents Friday after his flight landed at Orlando International Airport. He faces charges of possessing child pornography persuading a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

The woman, Rhonda J. Bays, 39, of Eustis was arrested Saturday and faces one count of conspiring with another for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct. She made her initial appearance in federal court Monday.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Stickney, federal agents searched his apartment and found several videos of boys engaged in sexual acts. They also found a video camera on a bedroom bookshelf and a four-minute video showing a child, about 8 to 10 years old, engaged in sexual acts with an adult male.

The adult in that video appears to be Stickney, the complaint says.

In an online chat last week, Stickney told an undercover detective he was coming to Orlando to have “sexual contact” with a child and that “he had previously had sexual contact with that child,” prosecutors allege. The child’s age and identity were not disclosed.

FBI agents watched Stickney as he boarded a flight Friday morning and changed planes in Charlotte, N.C. They arrested him when he arrived in Orlando and seized his cell phone, laptop computer and an external storage device. They found more than 100 movie files depicting children in sexual activities, the complaint alleges.

They also found “chats” with “Rhoni” on Stickney’s cell phone. Several text messages “Rhoni” sent Stickney were included in the criminal complaint filed against her.

Early Saturday, FBI agents met Bays at her home. According to the federal account, she told investigators she met Stickney through Facebook and that they were engaged in a sexual relationship but broke up in February.

Bays said that Stickney “fantasizes about engaging in sexual acts with ‘little boys,’ as well as ‘molestation,’” and “that she engages in these sexual molestation chats with Stickney as part of his fantasy.” her criminal complaint says.

A Department of Children and Families spokeswoman confirmed the agency launched a child-abuse investigation into Bays, who is a mother, on Saturday, and that the victim is not her own child.

Stickney and Bays are being held at the Seminole County Jail

Bays said little during Monday’s hearing. A man who said he is close to Bays but asked not to be identified, told the Orlando Sentinel that none of her friends and relatives believe the woman would do what investigators allege.

“I’m still in shock,” he said. “Because I know Rhonda and she’s not a child molester. Plain and simple.”

It’s always shocking

Clyde E. Haidle – Repeat Sex Offender – Raped 11 year old after failing to register

A Squirrel Hill man accused of raping an 11-year-old girl in Greenfield likely should have registered as a sex offender in Pennsylvania because he spent 12 years in an Oklahoma prison for sexual assaults, police said Tuesday.

Clyde E. Haidle, 46, faces a preliminary hearing today in Pittsburgh Municipal Court on charges he grabbed a girl walking home from school last week and assaulted her in an abandoned home on Ivondale Street.

Eddie Wyant, the district attorney for Ottawa County, Okla., said at least one of Haidle’s victims in the mid-1980s was younger than 16. Haidle served two stints in Oklahoma prisons between 1986 and 1999 for convictions of rape, robbery, concealing stolen property, attempted rape and sodomy, an Oklahoma prison official said.

Despite his convictions he did not register as a sex offender in either state.

Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law requires people convicted of sex crimes to register with Pennsylvania State Police, which publishes names on a Web site. Oklahoma requires people to register as sex offenders if their convictions came after November 1989. Haidle’s convictions were in 1986 and 1987.

Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Douglas Grimes, the Megan’s Law section commander, said preliminary indications are that Haidle should have registered here when he moved to this state.

“Because he wasn’t required to register in Oklahoma, he probably wasn’t aware of the (Pennsylvania) laws,” said Grimes, who emphasized that investigators would have to investigate when Haidle came to Pennsylvania to determine which Megan’s Law would apply, if any.

The law has changed over the past several years.

“But ignorance is no excuse,” Grimes said. “It’s incumbent upon him to check and see. Registration of sex offenders is largely self-reported.”

Haidle is in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of rape, false imprisonment and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. It is unclear whether he has a lawyer.

“My feeling is that some little girl was victimized and that’s terrible,” Wyant said. “This guy apparently slipped under that law.”

Haidle raped and robbed a woman at knifepoint in 1987. According to court records, he “used force and violence” and threatened “great bodily harm” to the victim if she resisted while he raped her. In the sexual assault a year earlier, Haidle was unable to complete the rape because of the victim’s age and size, court records state.

Haidle was convicted in 1987 of concealing stolen property of four guns — two semiautomatic rifles, a shotgun and a Winchester bolt-action rifle with a scope.

Haidle served about nine months in prison of a two-year sentence before he got out in February 1987. Three months later in May, he pleaded guilty to rape and was sentenced to 25 years. He served about 11 1/2 years of that sentence before he was released in 1999, a prison official said.

Pittsburgh police Sgt. Larry Scirotto said investigators became aware of Haidle’s criminal history over the weekend. He said the information has not changed their investigation.

Police said Haidle was drinking on the porch of the abandoned house Thursday a few blocks from his home when he saw the victim, whom he recognized from the neighborhood. The girl described his clothing and appearance to police, who searched the neighborhood and found Haidle hiding beneath floorboards in a trap door on the second floor of his home.
