Pervert Carl Ranger tries to steal Xmas

Carl Ranger of Severn said he filled out the proper paperwork even gave Glen Burnie postal workers his identification. “I wasn’t trying to hide anything,” he said. But after investigators did a background check and discovered his status as a registered child sex offender, they quickly intercepted the letter. In December of 2000, Ranger pleaded guilty to one of 18 counts of child abuse – some of which included sexual offenses.

This week, the 68 year old attempted to answer a letter to Santa from a 14 year old Baltimore City girl. He said he and his wife just wanted to help someone in need. “We have a lot and we’re thankful for what we have and we want to share and unfortunately it seemed to be the wrong thing to do,” said Ranger. A convert to Catholicism, Ranger said he has changed; he reads his Bible daily, donates to several charities, even has made peace with the victim. “I have met with the victim, I apologized and she forgave me. I have confessed for my sins.” Still, the U.S Postal Service contacted the Baltimore girl’s family and has now shut down the 100 year old nationwide program.

According to the Postal Service, future names and addresses of the children will be blacked out and all gifts must be sent to the post office instead of being delivered to the child’s home. It is still unclear, why the Glen Burnie Postal Workers gave Ranger the letter before conducting a background check.
