Jack McClellan – Attention Seeking Filthy Pedophile

The controversial “Portland Girl Love” blog of self-professed pedophile Jack McClellan could go from pink to blank this week, according to a message posted on the Web site.

On his site, McClellan says the blog featuring tips about the best public places to watch children may go offline within a few days “due to a fee dispute with my Web host.”

“I don’t know how long it will take to find a new host given the controversy surrounding me and this site — it could be several weeks or even months,” McClellan said in the posting.

The company hosting “Jack McClellan’s Portland Girl Love,” British-based Leaseweb.com, could not be reached for comment.

His Web site rates locations for scoping out girls. McClellan urged visitors to bookmark the site’s Internet address and check back in the future for his return.

McClellan, who left Oregon last fall after transit police banned him only to return to Portland in the new year, has never been charged with a sex crime, but he has admitted sexual attraction to girls. Outraged community leaders and parents also chased the admitted pedophile out of California and Washington.

After a brief stay in Los Angeles, McClellan returned to Portland, blogging: “even though I’m shivering and getting soaked much of the time here, it’s less stressful than living under that restraining order in CA . . . “

Homeless and jobless, McClellan got an Oregon ID card, according to his Web site.

Meanwhile, on his blog and in an online story on The Portland Mercury’s site, McClellan contends that two Portland cops harassed him while he was eating a sandwich at Powell Butte park last Thursday.

McClellan told The Mercury that “a park ranger came up and started talking to him. Then, a patrol car rolled up with two cops inside.”

“All of a sudden they started focusing like a lightning rod on me,” McClellan told the alternative weekly. “They were asking me my name and phone number, but I’m sure they knew who I was.”

Portland police have not returned calls for comment about the encounter.

“They told me ‘we just don’t feel this is a good place for you,’ ” McClellan told The Mercury. “And I asked them why, and they said ‘We’re afraid you might grab a kid off the trail and run off with them.’ “

“I told them I didn’t know where else to go, and one of them said ‘How about Thailand?’ ” he says in the article.

Hmmm. Why Thailand?

Robert Steven Carson – Repeat Sex Offender

A prosecutor announced today he will seek the death penalty in the case of a convicted sex offender accused of killing a young Santee woman whose body was found in a trash can in the East County mountains.

Prosecutor John Rice made the announcement this morning as Robert Steven Carson, 40, appeared before Judge Allan Preckel in a hearing to determine the status of his case. Carson is charged with murder, attempted forcible rape and possession of methamphetamine in connection with last year’s death of 24-year-old Brittany Hart.

The next status hearing in the case was set for Sept. 8 and a trial date was set for March 2.

Hart went missing May 24 last year and her body was discovered off Interstate 8 near Buckman Springs. Carson was arrested on June 5 by sheriff’s detectives who say they linked the two through cell phone records.

A judge in April refused to drop a special circumstance allegation against Carson of murder during an attempted rape, which makes him eligible for the death penalty.

In a preliminary hearing last year, detectives testified that Hart met Carson at a Costco in La Mesa where she worked, and the next day she made an Internet search of a sexually suggestive name of a clothing line he had started.

The woman left a cell phone message to her mother that day and was never heard from again.

In a television appearance several months later, Carson claimed he killed Hart when she came at him with a knife.

Carson has previous convictions for attempted residential burglary and misdemeanor sexual battery.

Robert Andrew Forgy – Repeat Sex Offender

“25% of all sex offenders re-offend within 15 years”

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services caseworker called to investigate whether two toddlers were molested only left a pamphlet with the Dupo man the caller claimed molested them.

The DCFS investigator never called police, never interviewed the children and didn’t even question the man, who was already a convicted sex offender, according to police reports.

Police only learned about the abuse when a family member brought the girls, ages 1 and 3, to the sheriff’s department to make a complaint.

“It’s important on the types of cases that law enforcement is involved in the very beginning,” said Capt. Steve Johnson, who heads investigations for the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department. “We work closely with DCFS, but our involvement is imperative for the safety and protection of everyone involved.”

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating, said Kendall Marlowe, DCFS spokesman, but couldn’t comment on the specifics of the case due to department policy.

Robert Andrew Forgy, 27, of 369 McBride Ave. in Dupo, now faces charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child — a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

DCFS received a hotline call on May 13, alleging 1-year-old and 3-year-old girls were molested. Two days later, a family member and the two children walked into the St. Clair County Sheriff Department and asked to speak to investigators.

After taking the report, Sgt. Dan Stockett, Investigators Desmond Williams and Matt Jany were sent to 369 McBride Ave. in Dupo to speak with Forgy.

The three officers were allowed into the home, Johnson said, and discovered a noose hanging from the ceiling with a chair underneath in the living room.

“Naturally, we became concerned,” Johnson said.

The officers began searching for Forgy and eventually spotted him walking through a nearby field.

“Investigators conducted two days worth of questioning with family members and the suspect,” Johnson said. “The children were interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center.”

In 1999, Forgy was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child after police said he raped an 11-year-old Cahokia girl.

In a plea deal, Forgy received a 3 1/2 year prison sentence in exchange for his guilty plea to the reduced charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Forgy is required to register as a sex offender as a sexual predator.

“The sheriff’s department is working with the department to ensure that this situation doesn’t happen again,” Johnson said. “We offered (DCFS) our full cooperation so we can work together in these type of cases.”

Marlowe could not comment on if the investigator faced possible disciplinary action, citing department policy.
