Patrick M. Conway – Ferndale police seeking info on suspected child molester

Ferndale Police are searching for anyone who may have been sexually molested by a man who ran a local day care business for more than a decade.

Patrick M. Conway, 74, was arrested Dec. 6 after two girls under the age of 15 told police that he had molested them several years before, according to a Ferndale Police press release.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Conway and his wife ran a daycare business out of their home on the 2000 block of Washington Street in Ferndale.

Lt. Matt Huffman said they are currently searching through Child Protection Services records to determine how long the day care was open, but they believe the daycare was open from 1989 until about 2004. It is unclear if the daycare had a name, he said.

Police also believe that Conway may have been a pastor or minister in the Van Zandt area.

Conway, who now lives in the Granite Falls area, was released on $100,000 bail Dec. 10. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Whatcom County Superior Court on Friday.

John Trainowsky – Failure to Register

A preliminary hearing today for a convicted sex offender in living in the Valley.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says John Trainowsky was an un-registered sex offender living too close to a licensed daycare facility.

Trainowsky faces charges of violating the registration act and community notification act.

Sheriff’s deputies are also working to get written approval prohibiting Trainowsky from visiting his former neighborhood in Central Estates.

Right now the law says Trainowsky can visit his wife at their former home.

But that’s only if he stays less than 3 consecutive days and less than 10 days total in a month

Naperville man charged with possession of child porn

A Naperville man has been charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, police said Tuesday.
Christopher T. Sunryder, 34, was arrested Thursday after a four-month investigation involving the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Naperville Police Department Computer Crimes Unit, according to Naperville Cmdr. Mike Anders.
Maryland authorities contacted Naperville police after one of their residents reported Sunryder was using a phone sex chat line to try to make arrangements to have sex with a minor.
In September, police executed a search warrant on Sunryder’s residence in Naperville and workplace in Downers Grove and seized personal computers, which led to the recovery of numerous images of child pornography, authorities said.
Naperville Sgt. William Davis said authorities do not believe Sunryder had any contact with minors and no charges will be filed in Maryland.Sunryder was taken to the department’s detention facility, then transferred to DuPage County jail where he posted $5,000 bond.Possession of child pornography is a felony punishable upon conviction by two to five years in prison per count.
