Glen Burnie man pleads guilty to child pornography charge

A 39-year-old Glen Burnie man pleaded guilty today in federal court to possession of child pornography while he was living in Hawaii.

The case against Gregory D. Corbitt was transferred to Maryland because Corbitt moved from Hawaii prior to his indictment.

According to the statement of facts presented to the court as part of his guilty plea, Corbitt possessed more than 600 images of child pornography in late 2006 on a laptop computer owned by his wife and on compact discs stored at her home. At the time, Corbitt’s wife was an active duty Air Force member living on Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and the case was investigated by the military service.

Corbitt later admitted that the child pornography on the laptop computer belonged to him, prosecutors said.

He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, followed by supervised release for life when he returns to U.S. District Court in Baltimore on Feb. 22.
