Child molesting suspect arrested

A 23-year-old Evansville man is being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail for allegedly performing various sexual acts with a child.

Police say Daniel E. Bundy was 18 when he first began performing the sexual acts with the then-10-year-old girl in January 2003. The acts reportedly continued at different times for about the next year, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

Bundy reportedly admitted to the acts and to having intercourse with the girl “at least once or twice,” but told police he was only 13 or 14 when it happened, the affidavit said. Police say other information from the victim suggests that is false and that Bundy was actually 18 and then 19 when the allegations occurred.

Bundy was arrested this week and is being held on a $2,500 cash bond or a $25,000 surety. His charges include two counts of felony child molesting and one count of felony criminal deviate conduct.
