Calgary child molester faces jail in U.S. case

Molesting a four-year-old girl could see a Calgary senior spend up to seven years in a U.S. prison.

Kenneth Cooke, 73, of Calgary, has been convicted of sexually abusing a four-year-old girl in 2003, court officials confirmed.

A Canadian citizen, Cooke was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 28.

He faces anywhere from probation to seven years in jail.

Cooke reportedly molested the girl while visiting family in Lake in the Hills, Ill., in June 2003.

The girl was reportedly in the care of one of Cooke’s relatives.

The Calgarian surrendered after losing a year-long extradition battle in Canadian courts, U.S. media outlets reported.

Cooke is free on bail.
